CPI Plumbing & Heating Announces Change in Ownership

MOUNT VERNON, WA – January 2019 – It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that CPI Plumbing & Heating announces Kelly Schols’ departure as President and Owner. Schols has decided to leave the company to pursue new challenges and opportunities. The change will go into effect as of January 1, 2019, and CPI will continue to run as usual through current owners Brad Tully, President, and Michael ‘Oly’ Olsen, Vice President. To ensure a smooth transition, the plan is for Schols to continue as a consultant to Tully and Olsen.

Schols is also a Dave Ramsey Qualified Financial Master Coach and the Blue Collar Success Group’s Financial and Accountability Coach, mentoring members and contributing his diverse industry knowledge to helping them make their personal, professional and financial goals a reality. He has been involved in best practice groups throughout the plumbing and HVAC industry for decades and has recently begun coaching and mentoring those groups more frequently. After his departure, Schols plans to expand his coaching and mentoring for plumbing and HVAC companies across the country, while continuing to consult for CPI Plumbing & Heating.

“As I move into this next chapter of my career, it is definitely with a mix of emotions. The decision to make the transition to solely coaching and consulting was not an easy one, but is necessary to help CPI, and I personally, continue to grow,” said Kelly Schols. “I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported CPI and me over these years. Without the support of this amazing community, we would not be where we are today. I am beyond honored and humbled to have led this organization since 2001 and look forward to what’s to come in 2019 and beyond.”

CPI Plumbing & Heating was founded by Steve Olsen in 1986. Schols joined CPI in 1990 and took over ownership in 2001. Soon after, Schols appointed Brad Tully and Michael ‘Oly’ Olsen as owners, and this same group has run CPI together ever since. Schols has played a critical role in the development and success of the organization since his inception and will be greatly missed for his forward-thinking, community-driven leadership. CPI thanks Schols for his nearly 30 years of dedicated service and for all he has done for the company, industry and community, and wishes him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.

If you have any questions during this time of transition, please contact Brad Tully, General Manager, at (360) 207-2223 or bjt@cpiplumbing.com.
