Our own Brandon Diers and Jordan Young-Treadway helped victims of a drive-by shooting in Sedro-Woolley. According to a witness at the scene, they are responsible for saving multiple lives including the lives of two young girls.

“I heard five gunshots, so I ran to the end of my driveway, and my son, Jordan, was there, he had just pulled in. He had heard the gunshots as well. So he turned around, and we both ran over to where we heard some screaming.” Brandon Diers explained to a reporter from KIRO 7.

When he got to where the screaming was coming from he found a man, “He kept saying my brother got shot in the heart, over and over again. There was blood running down his arm so I instantly took my shirt off and tourniquet it and wrapped it up as best we could. Then I took off my belt and wrapped it up even more. My son called 911 got the cops and the aid cars here.”

In the middle of the interview with KIRO 7, Melissa Wilson interrupted to give Brandon Diers a hug. She was the owner of the home where the shooting took place outside. One of the victims was dating her niece. “They saw him with their phones out, shouting, and [the shooters] took off. They still had their guns drawn, and they were going to shoot until he was dead and [Brandon Diers] saved their life.”

Melissa also believes Brandon Diers and Jordan Young-Treadway saved the lives of her two young girls who were in an SUV seconds before the shooting took place. “The car had a bullet hole in it, the car my two-year-old and eight-year-old just got out of.”

There are still true heroes in our community, and we are honored to call them our colleagues. We are honoring them on March 1st with the CPI Golden Wrench Award for their selfless act.
