CPI Plumbing Replaces Donated Food After Water Damage

Water Damage
When CPI managers read in the Skagit Valley Herald that a broken water pipe at Cascade Middle School had ruined 200 pounds of donated food for their local food drive, they wanted to do something about it. No, they weren’t the company called in to fix the pipe, but they did come to the rescue in another way.

Owner/managers Kelly Schols and Brad Tully got to work replacing the water-logged food. Schols and several of his employees have kids in the Sedro Woolley School District, so it was easy to enlist their enthusiastic help! They went shopping and picked up over 200 pounds of non-perishable food items, loaded them up in the CPI Service Vans, and delivered them to the Cascade Middle School Office the next morning before the first bell rang! “It just seemed like the natural thing for us to do,” Said Schols. “We’re used to helping out because of a plumbing problem. This just had a different twist to it!”

It was also an opportunity to add another recipient to their “CPI Charity Club” list. CPI Plumbing & Heating launched the charity program in October. Through the program, the company donates 1% of its annual service earnings to LOCAL Charities. Each month an outstanding employee will have the opportunity to select the recipient of the donation.

CPI’s receptionist Connie Bass was the first employee to receive the honor and chose the Breast Institute at Skagit Valley Hospital for the month of October. A check for $1000 was presented to Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation Executive Director Linda Frizzel. In November, employee Michael Fox chose the Skagit Publishing Christmas Fund and a $1500 dollar check has been donated to that charity. January’s chosen employee will be announced after the holidays.
